REGISTRATION FOR SEMINAR, ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS AT THE THIS LINK: https://www.schloss-buchenau.de/mbsr During the past 43 years, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and other mindfulness-based programs (MBPs) have spread exponentially, creating tremendous access to mindfulness for people all over the planet. Mindfulness is now being integrated into medicine, health care, psychology and education and a wide range of other social institutions including law, criminal justice, government, and business. In parallel, it is a focus of systematic research in medicine, healthcare, neuroscience, experiential learning theory, and workplace and organizational behavior.
The beauty, simplicity, and power of MBSR resides to large measure in the co-mingling of the rivers of meditative awareness, Buddhist and Western psychology, and science. Understanding this seamless confluence from the inside out, we will experientially explore the origins, ethos, ethics, and heart of mindfulness as a means of reducing the causes of human distress by activating our innate resources for transformation and greater wellbeing.
Together, as a community embedded in seven days of silent practice and evening talks, we will explore the universal qualities of mindfulness and their expression in our personal lives, common humanity, and stewardship of the Earth. Grounded in the spirit of warmth, curiosity and befriending, this retreat is an intensive immersion in wakefulness to be further cultivated through sitting and walking meditation, mindful movement and yoga, and individuak and group meetings with the retreat teachers. Emphasis will be placed on intimacy with the body, mind, and heart and the recognition of our innate courage, clarity, kindness, and insight. This retreat requires no adherence to a particular faith tradition. It is suitable for those seeking an in-depth immersion in silence and mindfulness as well as anyone teaching or aspiring to teach MBSR, other MBP’s and/or mindfulness in a range of institutional and social settings. It fulfills one of the silent retreat requirements for becoming an MBSR or MBP Teacher.
